So I'm still working on getting my blogs out on a timely basis. That Monday blog has to be written before 4am Monday and it's throwing me for a loop. I'll work on my scheduling. So, while I sit here Monday morning, it will be a happy Tuesday while you read more about Davenport's basement.
Today the focus is on the bar area. We had custom lower cabinets made for the perimeter. Then one of my favorite elements to add in homes is the floating shelf. It's perfect here and showcases their tile as well.
As you read last week, we did a floating upholstered bench, which I adore, and my other baby in this basement is the wine wall. I knew it would be great, and after several talks with Greg Clayton, owner of House Calls Home Improvement, I convinced him the idea was fantastic :) His implementation is spot on. The under lit floating white shelves are perfection!
The large island provides lots of seating for entertaining. It's really a striking space that functions for Davenports' famous parties. I'm bidding for invite :)
Thanks to Greg for the craftsmanship and patience with the ideas in my head, and to Chrissy Wichman for the amazing pictures.
