It was a fun weekend! I hit the West Bottoms not once but twice! I dragged Vince there on Saturday before we went to UMKC for Drew's basketball game. It's amazing how quickly time goes in the West Bottoms. It's like I'm in a time warp. I blink and I've been there for 3 hours. I have lots of accessory shopping to do for clients and I made a small dent. I love going there to look for treasures but I'm a little gun shy which is not like me at all. So the big issue is that I can't return stuff, so if my client doesn't like it, I just got more inventory which I'm not really looking to store :) So anything over $20 takes a long thought on my part. Sometimes a quick text to see if I can get a commitment right there but I'm discovering I'm getting better at going with a list and coming out with a few treasures that will work.
So then on Sunday we took Vince's mom, Marcia, to brunch at Volitare to celebrate her birthday. And then you can't be out there without having a quick look. This trip led me to 2 new shops that I fell in love with. Top Hat and Bella Patina. Both will be on the top of my list for the next visit.
But let's start with my first love, food. Volitare is new treasure down there. Across from Golden Ox it's easy to get to and there has been plenty of parking. I do recommend reservations. My mistake this time as we had to do bar seating. My french toast was the perfect meal for this sweet tooth. http://www.voltairekc.com. I also love the mix of antiques with their bar, it has a fresh yet old school cool vibe. Really cool.
The next set of pictures were pieces I was considering but didn't pull the trigger. I went on Sunday so there's a chance they will still be there for the next sale.
