Can you see the smile on my face? It's from ear to ear because it took a lot of work to get this hole. We were blessed to work with a very accommodating builder. Chris George and his son, Caleb made my vision a reality and did it with patience.
The very first meeting was me coming in with pictures of colonial and cape code homes and a tight budget. This may not seem so unusual for the east coast, but here in the midwest, current builds are not this style. But I knew you can't go wrong when you go classic. Chris George took my requests, inside and out, and adapted one of his plans to my home. The outside was perfect!
I had some very specific requests. I knew I wanted a white house, a large pantry, a colonial or cape code style. The main space had to accommodate a baby grand piano, and there had to be a depth change from the house front to the garage. I can make an entire blog entry on this detail. Maybe another day :)
We worked to get the inside design perfect and then we waited for what seemed like forever before the digging began. Who knew moving dirt could provoke such emotion. It was a glorious day.
I continued to plan for the entire interior of the home so here were some inspirational pics...
