It was a beautiful day for the closing day of the 83rd annual Plaza Art Fair. The weather was a perfect 75 degrees. Our family was joined by Susan and Katie Hobbs and Ellie Wheeler. It was so fun to watch the girls wander in the art booths and discuss what they liked about the pieces. There's nothing better than original art and I wish I could afford more it. My favorite artist was there again and I was able to catch up a little Cali Hobgood. She does a piece that I adore and Vince got it for me as a house warming gift. She has added to her collection and I now have my eye on "cotton candy" and the "red purse". Find her website here. http://www.photographsbycali.com
This year I wish I would have added a jack from N to my collection of art. The 3-d jacks were cool and reasonable but I passed and it may be that piece that I think about all year. Hopefully he comes back next year and I won't hesitate.
Now the food, you can't beat street vendors. Most of the restaurants that occupy the plaza constructed booths with customer favorites for sale. I partook in the lobster tacos from Zocola. The kids had chocolate cones, a walkable version of the chocolate bag, from McCormick and Schmicks, and Drew had the Nachos but I'm not sure where we grabbed those goodies. I do regret not finding the Capital Grille booth earlier because the steak sandwich sounded amazing.
So a successful day. Some good family and friend time. I feel like a good parent because I brought culture to the children (truth be known they were probably most excited they spotted Nikki, the reality star from Bachelor, but oh well). And everyone was well feed. So it's on my calendar for next year.
