I made it to the Plaza Art Fair
It was iffy! It was Sunday afternoon, we were meeting friends in Leawood for happy hour, it was raining, but I made it! And the 2016 Plaza Art Fair did not disappoint. It had great art and my other love, food! I enjoyed one of my favorite cocktails from Zocalo, meatballs from Coal Vines and then because that’s not enough I ate the chocolate bag (turned into a chocolate cone for this event) from McCormick and Schmick’s. It was awesome!
Then on top of that I got to see great art. My all-time favorite artist, Cali Hobgood, was there. She brought some oldies but goodies, like my most prized possession, the blue dress, but she also showcased new pieces. “Cessna” reminds of my brother and dad and when I’m rich and famous I’m getting them each one.
I can’t express how much I love this…
But I am always on the lookout for something I haven’t seen before, and this year was no exception. Kate Harrold from Nashville creates edgy photography pieces I fell in love with. So I made my purchase. The name makes me love it even more, “Sticky Living.”

I gathered a few more business cards from some really inventive artists, but I will have to share at another time. So if you are in Kansas City be sure to mark your calendar for next year. Like I said, the Plaza Art Fair does not disappoint.
